Join us in a tranquil woodland setting for an immersive permaculture experience. Discover tools for living in deep harmony with nature.

The weekend will be comprised of 5 mini workshops which can each be attended as a valuable stand-alone experience or as a holistic journey through permaculture, experiencing it from different perspectives. Together, these workshops create a transformative experience that encourages participants to cultivate a deeper and more caring relationship with themselves, their surroundings, and the planet.

Saturday


10am – 12pm Permaculture Design Thinking
Introduction to permaculture principles, ethics and tools and how to apply them to any area of your life. This will include interactive group exercises.

12:30pm – 2:30pm Permaculture Survey Methods
How to use permaculture methods to survey a site before planting. This will include soil tests, deep observation and mapping.

3:30pm – 5:30pm Forest Gardening
Introduction to forest gardening benefits and techniques. We will plant a small patch of forest garden together.

Sunday

11am – 1pm Nature Connection Meditation
Participants will experience a collection of meditation techniques to help them to connect more deeply
with nature and with themselves.

2pm – 4pm Foraging Walk
We will discover edible and medicinal wild plants (including trees) growing around us how to use them. We will make a delicious herbal tea from some of the wild herbs we find.

Accommodation: Camping in your own tent or van: €10 (paid upon arrival). Camping spaces are limited. Let us know if you would like to camp and we will let you know if we have space.

Note: Camping is very basic. There is no electricity or running water. We will provide bottled water. You will need to bring your own food and cook on the fire.

There are also accommodation options nearby in Gorey.

There will be an optional campfire get together on the Saturday evening. Please bring a musical instrument if you play one or are learning!

About the facilitator:

Siobhán is a qualified horticulturist and educator who has been growing food for 13 years and teaching permaculture and related topics for 6 years. She has completed a Permaculture Design Certificate and is a co-founder of Coole Eco Community.

She is passionate about applying permaculture to every aspect of her life so as to live in a way that causes no harm to any of the beings we share the planet with.
